Chemical and Process Technology (CPT) 7 CHEMICAL PROCESS INTENSIFICATION Program leader/section leader Prof .dr.ir. M. (Martin) van Sint Annaland Scientific staff FTE Full professor Prof .dr.ir. M. (Martin) van Sint Annaland 0.8 Associate professor Dr. F. (Fausto) Gallucci (until 02-2018, appointed as full professor, started his own research group in the department) 1.0 Assistant professor Dr.ir. I. (Ivo) Roghair 1.0 Mission Our mission is to promote a safe, efficient and clean chemical industry by developing advanced intensified reactor (and process) concepts through state-of-the-art fundamental knowledge obtained with advanced reactor modeling and novel experimental techniques. We believe that process intensification is likely to be the next revolution in the chemical industry. The need for more efficient processes, including further flexible engineering designs, while simultaneously increasing safety and reducing the environmental impact of these processes is pushing industry towards novel research in this field. Research themes The Chemical Process Intensification research group is committed to the study, development and demonstration of novel multi-functional reactor concepts based on improved fundamental knowledge using advanced, experimentally validated (multi-phase) reactor models. The focus is on process intensification through process integration, i.e., the integration of separation,
