34 Brief description of the process The jury received all theses, CVs, and nomination letters for the TU/e best master thesis award put forward by the different TU/e departments and their respective master programs. Each jury member read and evaluated the materials based on the following criteria: innovative quality, theoretical foundation, verifiable scientific quality, results publishable in a scientific journal, student independence, and quality of the report's writing. The jury then met, compared notes, and determined a short list of top candidates. Finally, the jury decided on the winner based on a detailed discussion of the top candidates.
