3 Our university is built on passion. It is built on students and researchers who are driven not only by curiosity, but also by care for others and responsibility for the world around them. Doing nothing is simply unthinkable when they know their knowledge can make a difference. The bright minds you will read about in this booklet are doing nothing but follow their passion. These students are the greatest talent our university has to offer. In each category -BSc thesis, MSc thesis, EngD thesis and PhD thesis - one of them has received an award. But just to be nominated is already an achievement worth celebrating. Every nominee was selected within their own department or from their bachelor/graduate program from an extensive pool of outstanding theses. Our entire university, including myself, is extremely proud of what these students have achieved. The juries were also greatly impressed by the ambition level of the projects that were carried out by all nominated candidates. These young researchers show openness to new ideas, take responsibility for the challenges of their time and contribute with creativity and dedication in everything they do. It is truly inspiring to see so many talented people focusing on important matters, who dedicate their energy to making a difference. Because that’s what we stand for. At this university, we care not only for each other, but also for the society we are part of. Today we honour these talents for what they do, the connections they make and the values they radiate in our university. These awards are a celebration of passion turned into achievement, of all the people who love what they do and make our community a better place.
